Vandoren Paris
The Vandoren company was founded in 1905. It quickly became the leader in reeds, mouthpieces and accessories for clarinets and saxophones. Vandoren is exporting today 90% of its production in more than 100 countries, thanks to a know-how and an involvement of every instant.
The Vandoren company is a family business, founded by Eugène Van Doren, soloist at the Concerts Colonne orchestra. Continued by his son, clarinetist Robert Van Doren then by Bernard Van Doren, its actual President. Robert, Bernard’s son, joined the company in 2014.
B40
Same facing as the B45 with a wider tip rail, it produces a compact and centered sound.
The Vandoren B40 is a versatile mouthpiece with a medium long facing and an intermediate tip opening. Designed for use with softer reeds due to the width of the tip rail being wider, whilst still retaining the rich velvety sound throughout the registers of your clarinet.
This Mouthpiece shares the same tip opening and facing with the B45, one of the most popular and long standing models in the Vandoren range. Designed in collaboration with Jean-Paul Gauvin (Vandoren’s main mouthpiece designer) the B40 has a strong robust feel, allowing for an excellent dynamic range and focused tone. This mouthpiece is suitable for playing many different genres of music and is a firm favourite of beginner, intermediate and professional clarinetists.
