Epiphone Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar
Ever since Green Day emerged from East Bay, California, in 1987, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong could be seen brandishing a Les Paul Junior slung low over his shoulder. The Epiphone Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar is a faithful send-up of the original axe Billie Joe played on so many of the band’s hits and on stages worldwide. Featuring a flat-top mahogany body in classic white with a vintage wrap-around lightning bar bridge and a single Epiphone Pro P-90, this solidbody rocks hard without any flair or fluff — true to its namesake.
Single-coil with tons of punch and tone
The beating heart of the Les Paul Junior has always been the P-90. This simple, hard-rocking single-coil is placed in the bridge position for maximum crunch and grit. Whether you are banging out punk-inspired power chords or ripping off a no-frills, straight-to-the-point solo, this pickup has been wired for punchy, in-your-face P-90 tone. Plus, you’ll dial in your sound quickly and easily with a single master volume and a master tone with CTS potentiometers.
Neck designed for stellar sustain
The Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior comes with a glued-in mahogany neck cut to a vintage ’50s profile. It’s rounded and fatter than a traditional profile, making it a big hit among punk and hard rockers like Mr. Armstrong. The glued-in neck also delivers enhanced vibrational energy and a thicker, fuzzier tone that stays warm and resonant with stellar sustain at any volume. The Indian laurel fingerboard features 22 medium-jumbo frets for easy-on-the-hand chording up and down the neck.
Vintage dressing looks great onstage
Vintage appointments round out this killer rocker, including Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and the wrap-around Lightning Bar bridge. Nickel hardware and black top hat knobs are also added classic features that look great onstage. Finally, a 3-screw, punk-as-it-gets black plastic pickguard is the same as the one featured on the 1954 debut Les Paul Junior. Guitarists have plugged in this classic over and over and continue to revel in its playability and thunderous tone.
