One of the more distinctive Duesenbergs in the Starplayer lineup, the Duesenberg Starplayer TV DLX – Crimson Red builds upon Duesenberg’s most iconic 6-string blueprint with a powerful HH design and elevated aesthetics. Instead of the single F-hole found on the standard Starplayer, this guitar’s spruce-topped-maple semi-hollowbody sports dual double-bound F-holes paired with a sleek transparent pickguard to show off the guitar’s top. And while the addition of an F-hole certainly adds a slightly airier quality to the Starplayer TV DLX’s tone, the hard-hitting combo of a neck-position D-Tron humbucker and a bridge-position GrandVintage humbucker all but transform the Starplayer TV’s traditional H/S pickup combo with a fuller, deeper drawl. Furthermore, this guitar’s Vario-Tone control dramatically bolsters your sonic sculpting capabilities with sparkling coil-splitting functions and a powerful midrange-frequency filter. Deluxe HH pickup configuration and versatile
Vario-Tone knob The Duesenberg Starplayer TV DLX is much more than an aesthetic upgrade to the Starplayer TV. This guitar swaps out the TV’s neck-position P-90 for an ultra-articulate D-Tron humbucking pickup. What does it sound like? The D-Tron is heavily inspired by one of the very earliest humbucking pickups, revered for its firm bass, crystal-clear top end, and hi-fi-like character. Paired with the superb all-rounder GrandVintage humbucker in the bridge, the Starplayer TV DLX’s HH control section also sports a custom Vario-Tone switch to sculpt your mids and access cutting single-coil-style split tones.
Singing semi-hollow construction
Mixing the best of vintage-style semi-hollow construction and modern performance-minded enhancements, the Starplayer TV DLX’s body — comprising a spruce top and maple back and sides — slightly slims down the big-bodied semi-hollows of yore for a more comfortable feel and lighter weight. A solid center block runs through the middle of the Starplayer TV DLX’s body, dramatically reducing feedback and enhancing natural sustain. The body is paired with an equally luxurious 1-piece maple set-neck carved into a Medium “D” profile. The neck is not quite the chunky “D” you’d find on a vintage semi-hollow, but just large enough to fill out your grip when navigating the rosewood fingerboard’s compound radius.

Z-Tuners
We believe tuning your instrument yourself is an important moment before actually playing it. Duesenberg Z-Tuners are specifically made to give you a super smooth and precise feel when tuning. They also allow you to elegantly hide the end of the cut-off string inside the tuner shaft so it’s not damaging your case, gigbag or fingertips. Maintenance-free life – guaranteed.
Neck & Fretboard
The clever Plek process allows an unusually flat string position while providing clean sound reproduction without fret brushing. The string position, i.e. the distance between the strings and the frets, can only be set flat if all frets are precisely at the same height. To achieve this, all Duesenberg instruments go through the ingenious Plek process, which adjusts the frets to an accuracy of 1/100th of a millimeter. Each fret is individually measured and processed to achieve optimal playability of the instrument. Our complex post-processing is carried out entirely by hand. Each individual fret is perfectly polished and the fingerboard edges are carefully rounded to create a pleasant playing feel. This provides the basis for our promise that a Duesenberg will always feel unique.
D-Tron & Grand Vintage
Two humbucking Pickups. The D-Tron in the neck position and GrandVintage at the bridge are a perfectly fine tuned team that delivers a new nuance to the pallet of tone in our line of Starplayer TV guitars.
Vario-Tone
The Vario-Tone controls work as a regular tone blend, but also as a mid-frequency filter for each pickup. This allows cutting mid-range frequencies in your signal and offers endless options to customize your tone.
Nickel Hardware
You will find the geometrical three steps in almost every part on our instruments, from the curves on the headstock to the shape of the output jack. Most of our hardware is Nickel finished. When compared to regular Chrome finishes, Nickel has a beautiful warm and elegant sheen and ages naturally over time. It’s the way things were done before Chrome became the standard. If you don’t want the hardware on your instrument to age, we recommend regular cleaning.
Mission Control
The Starplayer TV DLX is fitted with our custom D-Tron pickup in the neck postion. This pickup delivers a distinctly transparent and sparkly tone usually not found in the neck position. It is joined by our jack-of-all-trades GrandVintage humbucker in the bridge position giving you a balanced, classically voiced humbucker tone that leaves nothing to be desired. Both pickups can be fine-tuned with the Vario-Tone controls. These allow you to filter mid-frequencies out of each humbuckers’ signal while also performing a nuanced coil-split. A noticeable middle-stop in the pots travel seperates the Vario-Tone control from the regular tone-blend.
