Inspired by the classic “Custom” stylings of the vintage era, the Duesenberg Starplayer TV Custom Electric Guitar – Black puts a signature 3-pickup spin on Duesenberg’s most iconic 6-string. This guitar’s basic construction is well-steeped in the Starplayer TV tradition, comprised of a solid center block, dynamic spruce top, and crisp-sounding maple back and sides. On the opposite end, the 1-piece maple neck’s Medium “D” profile ensures lightning-fast navigation of the rosewood fingerboard’s compound radius and 22 jumbo frets. You also get gleaming gold hardware, including a Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe tremolo and exceptionally stable Z-Tuners. What about the tone? Instead of the typical H/S configuration found on standard Starplayer TV models, the Duesenberg Starplayer TV Custom opts for a trio of D-Tron humbuckers. These low-output 1950s-inspired pickups are revered for their hi-fi clarity and top-end bite, tackling everything from thumping rockabilly cleans to hard-rock rhythms without breaking a sweat. Moreover, the Starplayer TV Custom’s dual-purpose tone control functions as a typical tone-shaping tool on one half of its sweep while transforming into a middle-pickup blender on the other end of its sweep. This brilliant feature allows you to integrate the middle pickup into any of the Starplayer TV Custom’s three pickup positions.
Singing semi-hollow construction
Mixing the best of vintage-style semi-hollow construction and modern performance-minded enhancements, the Starplayer TV Custom’s body — comprising a spruce top and maple back and sides — slightly slims down the big-bodied semi-hollows of yore for a more comfortable feel and lighter weight. A solid center block runs through the middle of the Starplayer TV Custom’s body, dramatically reducing feedback and enhancing natural sustain. The body is paired with an equally luxurious 1-piece maple set-neck carved into a Medium “D” profile. The neck is not quite the chunky “D” you’d find on a vintage semi-hollow, but just large enough to fill out your grip when navigating the rosewood fingerboard’s compound radius.
