The Aquarian Super Kick 10 Bass Drum head is a clear, 2x10mil double- ply drumhead that features Aquarian’s patented “Floating Muffling System”. The SK10 is one of the heaviest bass drumheads that we make and works well on large bass drums when you need an easy remedy for controlling “big” annoying overtones.
The SK10’s attached narrow felt muffle ring moves and breathes with the drumhead and reduces annoying overtones while enhancing the low-end with a well-defined, punchy sound. Aquarian’s Multi-Ply Vacuum Molding Process makes the two 10mil plies act as one thick ply to add clarity and a big pure tone. The SK10 creates just the right balance between resonance and control.
Often imitated, but never duplicated, the Super Kick line of bass drumheads is an industry best seller and a favorite among those drummers, drum techs, and recording engineers who want to quickly achieve a musical, controlled bass drum sound without the use of blankets, pillows or external muffling.

The Aquarian Difference
Incorporated into all Aquarian heads is a patented 360-degree Safe-T-Loc™ Hoop that eliminates slippage and detuning. The Aquarian Hoop makes it virtually impossible for a head to pull out or pucker, resulting in more consistent tuning with increased resonance.
Aquarian’s exclusive multi-ply vacuum tunning process helps reduce tone killing air pockets and dead spots by removing more of the air caught between plies. The result is a 2 ply head that is more responsive and resonant. The thickness of the drumhead film is a determining factor in how fast the head will vibrate. The thinner the material, the faster it vibrates, producing higher frequencies and more noticeable overtones. Thicker drumhead film generates lower relative frequencies. All of our heads are made exclusively from Aquarian’s ultra-responsive 3,5,7 and 10mil thick NuBRITE drumhead film.
The number of plies used to make a drumhead will affect the response and the timbre of a drum. Combining more plies together adds more mass resulting in fewer overtones that adds warmth, focus, and durability. Aquarian heads come in One, Two, Three, and Hybrid ply combination models.
